Chik-Fil-A Worker Dives Through Drive-Thru Window to Save Choking Child

Chik-Fil-A workers are known for always trying to provide 10/10 service, but one teenage worker in Georgia is being hailed as a hero for his quick thinking after he sprang into action to save a choking 6-year-old boy on Wednesday.

Logan Simmons was working his evening shift at the Chik-Fil-A in Flowery Branch, Georgia, when, while manning the drive-thru window, a woman pulled

"I just jumped out the window and ran straight down to the car," Simmons told WFTV. "I think it was the quickest option. It was right there and I saw the other car right there."

Security footage showed Simmons jump through the window to get to the choking child. Simmons said once inside the car, he could see that the boy's seatbelt had somehow become tangled around his neck.

"You could see he was turning red and losing pigmentation in his face," Simmons said of the 6-year-old.

The teen pulled out a pocketknife which he used to cut the boy free, preventing the potential tragedy.

"I’m still kind of shocked right now myself that all this has happened," he added.

Simmons' mother Teri, told the station she was shocked how nonchalant her son was about his life-saving rescue of the child.

"I'm amazed he didn't panic," Teri said. "As his mother, I would have panicked. I'd be running around going, 'Oh my gosh! What do we do?'"

Fortunately, the 6-year-old didn't suffer any injuries and is going to be fine, despite the close call.

"I’m just so thankful everyone is okay," Simmons said in a statement to Yahoo. "As soon as I realized what was going on, all I could think about was getting to the car as quickly as possible, so I jumped through the window. I’m still a little shocked by what happened, but I’m grateful I was able to help."
