A fallen Army officer is the latest recipient of the Medal of Honor. During a White House ceremony today, President Trump presented the medal to the family of Staff Sergeant Travis Atkins. Atkins was killed in Iraq in 2007 when he wrestled an insurgent to the ground as the man triggered a suicide vest bomb. Trump said Atkins' heroic action saved the lives of three other U.S. soldiers. He called it a truly immortal act of valor. Trump noted that Atkins loved the Army. The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest military award. Atkins grew up in Bozeman, Montana.
