Shooter Dead After Opening Fire At Oklahoma Walmart

Three people were killed after a shooting in the parking lot of at a Walmart in Duncan, Oklahoma. First responders from multiple agencies rushed to the store, which is located about 75 miles from Oklahoma City.

Officials say that the shooter is among the dead. The scene has been secured and is no longer considered an active shooter situation.

Police said that a male and female victim were found in a car in the parking lot, while another male was found dead outside the vehicle.

"We can confirm a shooting in Walmart parking lot," Duncan Police said in a statement. "One female and one male were deceased in (a) car and one male outside of the car. A handgun was found on scene."

Officials believe the gunman shot the two people in the car before turning the gun on himself. According to local media, the victims in the car were the gunman's estranged wife and her new boyfriend. He reportedly fired nine shots into their car and then turned the gun on himself after an armed bystander intervened.

No shots were fired inside the store, and while it was locked down, officials never evacuated the building.

The shooting occurred just days after the Walmart in El Paso, Texas, which was the site of a horrific mass shooting that left 22 people dead in August, reopened to the public.
