Soon-to-be free agent quarterback Malik Willis has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Miami Dolphins, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Athletic's Dianna Russini during the NFL legal tampering period on Monday (March 9).
"The Dolphins are signing former Packers QB Malik Willis, sources tell The Athletic," Russini wrote on her X account. "Malik Willis is signing a three-year deal worth $67.5 million that includes $45 million guaranteed, per source."
Willis, 26, was predicted to receive interest from NFL teams in need of a quarterback after showing signs of potential during his tenure as the Green Bay Packers' backup, going 2-1 in three starts amid Jordan Love's injuries during the past two seasons. The former Liberty standout threw for 972 yards and six touchdowns on 70 of 89 passing, while also recording 261 yards and three touchdowns on 42 rushing attempts, in 11 appearances for the Packers.
Willis was selected by the Tennessee Titans at No. 86 overall in the third-round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but only made three starts and appeared in 11 games for the franchise, having thrown for 350 yards and three interceptions on 35 of 66 passing, while also recording 144 yards and one touchdown on 144 rushing attempts.
